I jumped at the opportunity when BAYADA Education asked me to create resources for future nurses. Nursing has enabled me to work with some of the best humans I've ever met. I love nurses, and I love people who want to be nurses, so spending my time helping those called to care is a great honor. I have believed from day one that it is a privilege to be a nurse, and many other kind, caring, motivated, and excellence-driven future nurses have so much to bring to the profession. I hope the things I share each month in this newsletter inspire others to persevere on this meaningful path. Nursing is not easy, but it is worth it. It was not so terribly long ago that I was in your position, researching nursing schools and trying to figure out how to make it all work. The challenge of choosing a nursing school before you've experienced nursing school is that you don't yet know what truly matters. What does the NCLEX pass rate mean? Do all schools follow the same standards for clinical education? These questions can be difficult to answer if you haven't experienced nursing education for yourself. To get you started, I've compiled a few resources you can use to begin building a framework for how to evaluate the nursing programs you're interested in. I hope you find them useful.
Until next time,
