The road to revolutionizing nursing education

Our Story

In 1975, Mark Baiada started BAYADA Home Health Care with $16,000 and a belief: that people deserve home health care delivered with compassion, excellence, and reliability. Today, there are 29,000 like-hearted employees who call upon their natural sense of caring, community, and personal responsibility — all in the service of others.

The BAYADA Education story began in 2017 when a small team at BAYADA Home Health Care set out to find a solution to the nursing shortage. Mark and Mel Baiada recognized that the best way to bring more great nurses into the world was to revolutionize nursing education. Their vision focused on improving clinical preparation through partnerships with renowned academic and clinical sites.

From this vision — and through a generous donation from Ann and Mark Baiada — BAYADA Education was born. We are a nonprofit whose mission is to bring more great nurses into the world and support the nursing profession. While separate from BAYADA Home Health Care, BAYADA Education was founded in the spirit of The BAYADA Way, which is a representation of timeless values that have a positive impact on society.

BAYADA Education champions a nurse-first focus as a means to positively impact the lives of student nurses and their future patients. Through our educational initiatives, thought leadership, and advocacy, we seek to position the student and the newly graduated nurse at the heart of health care — right where they belong.

We have forged meaningful partnerships with fellow industry leaders and innovators who share our vision of solving the nursing shortage. Our first partnership — with Thomas Edison State University and Cooper University Health Care — combines the power of a leading academic health care system and an innovative public university. The result is a revolutionary partnership designed to provide a transformative, hands-on experience for future nurses.
