Our Beginnings
The story of BAYADA Education is rooted in a legacy of compassion and a vision to shape the future of nursing.
In 1975, Mark Baiada started BAYADA Home Health Care with $16,000 and a belief: that people deserve home health care delivered with compassion, excellence, and reliability. Today, there are 29,000 like-hearted employees who call upon their natural sense of caring, community, and personal responsibility — all in the service of others.
The BAYADA Education story began in 2017 when a small team at BAYADA Home Health Care set out to find a solution to the nursing shortage. Mark and Mel Baiada recognized that the best way to bring more great nurses into the world was to revolutionize nursing education. Their vision focused on improving clinical preparation through partnerships with renowned academic and clinical sites.
From this vision — and through a generous donation from Ann and Mark Baiada — BAYADA Education was founded in 2023, with the first cohort of students starting classes in the fall of 2024.
BAYADA Education is a nonprofit whose mission is to bring more great nurses into the world and support the nursing profession. While separate from BAYADA Home Health Care, BAYADA Education was founded in the spirit of The BAYADA Way, which is a representation of timeless values that have a positive impact on society.

The Thomas Edison State University Accelerated BSN BAYADA Scholars Track at Cooper University Health Care represents a completely new approach to nursing education grounded in collaborative partnership to better prepare students for the demands of modern health care.
